Everything You Need to Know About Inverters

Inverters have been helping us during power cuts, they provide emergency backup power units. Inverters run all household appliances and other major electrical fixtures during power shutdown. They operate the household appliances virtually and if the best backup is used , inverters can be used to watch TVs, power tools, and kitchen appliances.

The usage of the inverter is dependent on the types and specifications offered.

Functions

Inverters are charged using a power supply, solar panels, automobile engines, and gas generators. The batteries store direct current. The main function of the inverter is the conversion of Direct Current into Alternating Current. It is done because AC power is supplied to the main power grid of homes and industries.

Types of Inverters

Inverter manufacturing companies make two types of power inverters, these are called “True Sine Wave, also known as Pure Sine Wave, and the second one is Modified Sine Wave or Modified Square Wave inverters.

1. True Sine Wave: The quality of power that is generated by power utilities or power grids is replicated by True Sine Waves inverters. These types of inverters are recommended for energy-consuming electronic home appliances and equipment. As compared to Modified Sine Wave Inverters, they are quite expensive but also more efficient and powerful.

2. Modified Sine Wave: If you are not into using a huge number of household appliances during power cuts, then these types of inverters are to be used. For example, with Modified Sine Wave, you can use small power electronic equipment, lights, kitchen appliances. It is because they don’t possess the power to run air-conditioners, computers, and microwave ovens.

Size Of Inverters

The inverters’ size ranges from 100 w to 5,000 w. The size of an inverter means the capacity to give power to high-wattage electronic equipment.

Ratings

There are three main ratings on which the inverters are based.

Surge Rating:

In this, many appliances need high surge to begin their functioning, for example, refrigerators, TVs. But to continue running, they need less power. Therefore, a minimum of 5 seconds surge rating is to be maintained by an inverter.

30-Minute Rating:

These types of inverters require continuous rating far below the level needed for high-power-consuming appliances. If you use most of your electronic gadgets very occasionally, then using 30-minute rating inverters should be your choice.

Continuous Rating:

Continuous rating inverters are those that need a continuous amount of power to utilize without making the inverter shut down or overheat.

These are the major types of inverters you can get from the best inverter battery manufacturers in India. If you are looking for an option, reach DB Dixon Battery Private Limited.
